PLAN — Operation Kief Line: Securing Premium Joint Supply in Patong

I. Situation Report

Daniel is in Patong, Phuket. Thailand decriminalized cannabis in June 2022. There are approximately one thousand weed shops per 7-Eleven, which is saying a lot because there are a lot of 7-Elevens. Supply is not the problem. Quality control is the problem.

The specific product that works: kief-coated premium joints. Pre-rolled, typically from Dutch or Californian genetics, with a layer of kief meticulously applied to the exterior. If you touch it gently it stays. If you scratch it, it comes off. These are sold as "luxury joints" or "premium joints" at select dispensaries.

The problem: this specific product has an effect. Regular Thai dispensary flower does not. The kief coating is the active ingredient in the addiction maintenance program. Without it, the weed addiction continues to atrophy. This is unacceptable.

Mikael's hypothesis (confirmed by Daniel): kief is the only weed format that has any noticeable effect. This narrows the supply chain to a very specific product category.

II. The Kief Problem

Why Kief Works

Trichome concentration — kief is pure trichome heads, 50–80% THC vs 15–25% for flower. It's the extract without the extraction.
Combustion efficiency — kief on the outside of a joint burns at the same rate as the paper, creating a continuous high-potency delivery layer. It's not mixed into the flower (which would choke airflow) — it's coating the exterior.

Why Regular Thai Dispensary Weed Fails

Genetics lottery — post-decriminalization, Thailand flooded with grows of inconsistent genetics. Some shops sell premium imported strains. Most sell whatever grew.
Cure quality — tropical humidity makes proper curing difficult. Flower that looks good may be poorly cured, reducing potency and flavor.

IV. Supply Chain Strategy

STEP 1 — DISPENSARY AUDIT (PATONG)

Walk Bangla Road and the surrounding sois. Patong has the highest dispensary density in Phuket. Visit 8–12 shops in a single evening. At each shop:

Ask specifically for "premium pre-rolls with kief" or "luxury joints"
Check if they stock imported genetics (Dutch/Californian branding on display)
Inspect the joint — is the kief coating visible, even, professional?
Ask about consistency — can they get this product regularly or is it one-off?
Note the shop name, location, product, price, and quality rating (1–5)

Patong shops to prioritize: anything on Bangla Road or Rat-U-Thit 200 Pee Road that has actual branding (signage, logo, menu board) vs. a folding table with jars.

STOP — AUDIT RESULTS

Why: Before building a supply chain, we need to know what's actually available in Patong right now. The Thai cannabis market changes fast — shops open and close, product availability fluctuates with import cycles.

What happens: Daniel reports back with the audit. Which shops had kief joints? What quality? What price? How consistent?

How to continue: If 2+ shops have reliable supply → pick a primary and a backup, proceed to Step 3. If 0–1 shops → expand search to Step 2.

STEP 2 — EXPAND SEARCH RADIUS (IF NEEDED)

If Patong doesn't have consistent kief joint supply:

Phuket Town — more locals, fewer tourists, sometimes better quality shops catering to Thai cannabis enthusiasts
Rawai/Chalong — expat-heavy area, shops may stock premium imports for Western customers
Online ordering — several Thai dispensaries do delivery via LINE or Instagram. Search for "premium pre-roll delivery Phuket" or check Weedmaps Thailand listings
Craft growers — some Thai craft cannabis operations produce their own kief-coated joints in-house. These tend to be higher quality than import resellers. Look for farms with social media presence.

STEP 3 — ESTABLISH PRIMARY SUPPLIER

Once a reliable shop is identified:

Build a relationship — become a regular. In Thai retail culture, regulars get better product, better prices, and first access to new stock.
Ask about bulk — can they hold 5–10 kief joints for weekly pickup? Discount for volume?
LINE contact — get the shop owner/manager's LINE ID for stock alerts. "Let me know when the Dutch kief joints arrive."
Payment method — cash is king in Thai dispensaries. Some accept PromptPay or card. Don't use the Revolut Visa ending ··9602 for this — cash only, cleaner paper trail (or rather, no paper trail).

STEP 4 — BACKUP SUPPLIER

Never single-source an addiction. If the primary shop runs out, closes, or gets raided in a regulatory sweep:

Maintain a secondary supplier from the Step 1 audit
Keep 2–3 emergency joints in reserve at home (stored in airtight tube, cool dark place — kief degrades in humidity)

RISK — REGULATORY UNCERTAINTY

Thailand's cannabis laws are in flux. The Cannabis and Hemp Act has been debated since 2023 and could tighten regulations at any time. Recreational use is technically in a gray area — it was decriminalized by removing cannabis from the narcotics list, but comprehensive regulation hasn't been passed. A new government could re-restrict. This doesn't affect current supply but is worth monitoring.

The Thai cannabis market has no standardized testing or labeling requirements. A "premium kief joint" at one shop might be exceptional; at another it might be shake with dust. The audit in Step 1 is the quality control layer. Trust your nose and your experience over the label.

V. DIY Kief Operation (Advanced)

If the supply chain proves unreliable, there is a self-sufficiency option: buy good flower and kief separately, roll your own.

Equipment

Three-chamber grinder — collects kief automatically in the bottom chamber. Every grind builds the reserve. ฿200–500 at any head shop.

The Process

This approach guarantees supply independence. You're no longer dependent on a shop stocking the exact product. You buy flower and kief separately (both widely available) and assemble the product yourself. The addiction becomes self-sustaining.

DECISION — BUY vs BUILD

The DIY approach gives you control but requires effort. Pre-rolled kief joints from a good shop are zero-effort but supply-dependent. The optimal strategy is probably: buy pre-made when available (primary supplier), DIY when supply gaps occur. The three-chamber grinder should be acquired regardless — it passively accumulates kief from every session, building a strategic reserve.

VI. Storage Protocol (Tropical Climate)

Phuket humidity averages 70–85%. Kief is the enemy of moisture. Storage matters.
